The mind of a Four year old

I just couldnt wait to tell you all about a lil boy in our preschool class. He is the most adorable kid EVER - and he also happens to be a member of my church. So this pass Sunday was Fast Sunday - we observe the rite of forgoing two consecutive meals to gain spiritual clarity for whatever purpose we seek. So this kid says to me today in our daily preschool activity so matter-of-factly, "Sunday was Fast Sunday!" I replied excitedly, " Thats right kiddo!", I stare at him in amazement for a few seconds watching him color with crayons. He's concentrating ever so hard on his picture of a frog. I continue to have thoughts of how wonderful this kid is and how well his mother has taught him. Im admiring his ability to use his manners etc etc. when suddenly, bewildered he comments, "It was Fast Sunday ....but..... actually I think it went by sooooo slow." I jump from a sloutched over posture and smile ever so quickly. Grinning from ear to ear and trying not to giggle loudly I begin to explain Fast Sunday in preschooler terms. - that made my day. *grin*
