Well last night after a very long day of prescribed fire burning on the reservation (6am - 7pm).
Hubby gets back to the office with the rest of the crew to find they have been committed to the Morris Fire in Northern Los Angeles, Glendora to be exact.
This is the life of a wildland firefighter.....
Monday - in/out of the office doing paperwork for upcoming prescribed fire burns and contract renewals.
Tuesday - 6am to 6p trying to burn atleast 100 acres to meet the fiscal year quota that will be up for deadline the 1st of sept.
Weds. - 6am to 7p tryin to burn another 140 acres to meet the 15,000 acres requirement for this years goal by sept 1st. If the crew doesnt complete the burn there will be a shortage of money for next fiscal yr.....not a good thing.
He returns to compound to find they need to all rush home, get packs, and begin their long drive toward California. So he comes home stinky and black from the days activities to only change, grab bags, and out the door he goes. TOO much for Rhyan and I - the entire time hes packing we're crying our lil eyes out. So there he went .. out the door to another assignment. Could be five days long or could be the full 14 days gone. Who knows we just pray he comes home safely!
Welcome to MISHAPS of a SAHM
I LOVE BEING A MOM
Above Picture: We missed an opportunity to take pic with easter bunny this year. So, this is MY take on a Mall portrait with our easter bunny! Dontcha jus luv how pleasant ry is while reagan screams, "I DONT WANNA DO THIS!"
DC and I enjoy comic relief within our marriage. One of the quirks we practice daily is Parent of the Yr nominations. If one or the other acts on anything with the kids in an inappropriate manner in any capacity, we verbally award the recipient! Thus my new section headed as, "Parent of the Year goes to...."
- enjoy and watch us crash and burn at this thing called parenthood.
